2 Thessalonians 3:3 But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.
Recently, an alert popped up on my home security system which required a service call. I contacted my home security provider and shortly after, a technician came out to my residence in order to identify and fix the underlying problem. Once the issue was addressed, the technician began rebooting the system and ran a series of tests. Some of the test alerts displayed green signals while others came up red signifying system errors. The technician re-did the test as he checked the connection and the system configuration. The results were the same – system failure. With no success, he made a decision to schedule another appointment so he will have more time to work out the logistics. Due to a schedule conflict, I was without a home security system longer than anticipated.
Days following the initial appointment, I began to experience feelings of anxiety, fear, and uneasiness. My protection was somewhat gone. I utilize my home security system faithfully and over the years, I’ve become very dependent upon it. So having limited access to it for that short period of time caused me to feel unsafe and vulnerable. As I grappled with those feelings, the Lord began to comfort my heart and He led me to this verse in His Word:
Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.
He was reassuring me that I’m not alone and that He would continue to place His hedge of protection around my life. After reading God’s Word and praying over the situation, I was at peace, and those feelings of anxiety began to subside and eventually, they left.
The Lord was essentially saying, I need to rest in and depend on Him while trusting in His security and sovereignty. His layer of protection is far better than what any home security system can provide. Now I must say, “There is nothing wrong with having home monitoring services.” In my case, I became too dependent on it for my ultimate protection instead of placing my sole trust in the Lord’s protective hands.
Psalm 139:5 You have hedged me behind and before, and laid Your hand upon me.
Ladies, I encourage you to place your complete trust in God’s protection. The Lord doesn’t promise us that we will live a life free from troubles for we live in a fallen world. But He does promise that He will never leave us nor forsake us.
John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.
Hebrews 13:5b For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
2 Timothy 3:12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
When storms come our way, we can rest assure that we are never alone, Jesus is with us and He will be faithful to walk us through those times of uncertainty. We can rest in and depend on Him for His comfort, His peace that surpasses all understanding, His wisdom, His guidance, and His divine protection.
Psalm 5:12 For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; with favor You will surround him as with a shield.
Psalm 91:2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.”
Isaiah 52:12 For you shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight; for the Lord will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.
Psalm 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.
Jesus is faithful and His protection is One-Of-A-Kind. It’s Strong, it’s Secure, it’s Firm, it’s Unshakeable, and it’s Built to Last! God’s protection does not ever need a system reboot. His protection never fails. Trust Jesus, our Living Hope!!!❤
Deuteronomy 31:8 And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.
Psalm 121:1-4 I will lift up my eyes to the hills-from whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
