Psalm 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way.
1 Corinthians 3:3 For you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?
Growing up, I was raised Catholic. It wasn’t until my early 20s when I made a first-time commitment to follow Christ. In college, a friend invited me to her church where I heard the Gospel and responded to an invitation to accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Although I went forward and gave my life to Christ, I continued to live a life of sin. I would go to church on Sundays and occasionally, a weekly bible study while going to clubs and bars with friends. I was a carnal Christian living a double lifestyle.
More than a decade later and through certain circumstances, I rededicated my life to Christ at the age of 33. I fully surrendered to Jesus and I no longer had one foot in the world and one foot in church. My life is completely anchored in the Lord and in His Word.
Ladies, as you wait on the Lord to bring you a Godly Husband, pray and ask God to give you a Spirit-filled man vs. a carnal Christian.
A Spiritual Man seeks to please the Lord and he faithfully obeys Him. A Carnal Man seeks to please people and heed their advice instead of praying to God and seeking His wisdom. He has half-hearted obedience towards the Lord.
A Spiritual Man is faithful to God, his family, and to those around him. A Carnal Man is a compromiser and he is unfaithful to God, his family, and others.
A Spiritual Man will love his wife as Christ loves the church. A Carnal Man will love his wife when it’s convenient for him.
A Spiritual Man will remain faithful to his wife to the very end. A Carnal Man will seek other relationships outside of his marriage and/or have extra marital affairs.
A Spiritual Man will repent of his sins and ask God for His strength in order not to fall short in that area again. A Carnal Man is unrepentant and only sorry that he got caught. He will continue in his sin while doing his best to cover it up to avoid further detection.
A Spiritual Man is not just a hearer of the Word, but a doer of God’s Word. A Carnal Man is a hearer only and makes up excuses of why certain passages of scripture are not applicable to him.
Ladies, my prayer for each one of you is to wait on the Lord for a Godly Husband while praying for a Spirit-filled man who will love you as Christ loves the church. God desires to give you His very best and He will fulfill all of His promises according to His will and plan for your life. He is and will always remain faithful. Trust Him!
Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her.
Psalm 1:1-3 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.
James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.
