Nehemiah 8:10b For the joy of the Lord is your strength.
According to the 1828 Webster’s Dictionary, the word joy is defined as “a glorious and triumphant state”. As believers, we can experience the joy of the Lord no matter what situations we are facing or what comes our way. We can trust that God will sustain us and give us His everlasting joy and peace. Sometimes it’s hard to rejoice in the Lord especially when difficulties and hardships arise. But if we turn to Him and seek Him with our whole heart, He will give us His peace which surpasses all understanding and turn our mourning into dancing (Psalm 30:11a). I love what Isaiah 61:3b says, “To give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
Rejoice dear sister! He will give you beauty for ashes. He will take what the enemy meant for evil and turn it around for your good! The joy of the Lord is your strength.
He promises to be with us. He will never leave nor forsake us! When storms come, the Lord will be faithful to comfort our hearts, pour out His mercy and grace, grant us His peace, and give us everlasting joy. All we need to do is turn to Him, and depend on Him to strengthen us, help us, and uphold us with His righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10b). The Lord is and will always remain Faithful! Trust Him! Because you and I have Jesus, He has blessed us with His joy- our strength.
John 15:11 “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.”
Jeremiah 31:13b For I will turn their mourning to joy, will comfort them, and make them rejoice rather than sorrow.
