Isaiah 45:19 (NLT) I publicly proclaim bold promises. I do not whisper obscurities in some dark corner. I would not have told the people of Israel to seek Me if I could not be found. I, the Lord, speak only what is true and declare only what is right.
This verse really ministered to my heart when I read it the other day. The Lord says in His Word that He proclaims bold promises, He speaks only what is true, and declares only what is right. Isn’t this encouraging? In other words, the Lord speaks and keeps His promises and His Word never fails. He’s not a man that He should lie.
The Lord’s promises are true for each and everyone of us. And everything He says will come to pass. What has He declared over your life? I encourage you to hold on to the promises He has made and trust that He will fulfill each one in His perfect timing. Don’t allow your present circumstances to dictate the outcome of your situations. We will all face trials and go through times of testing, but what He has promised will come to fruition and His Word will never return void.
Isaiah 45:23a says, “I (the Lord) have sworn by My own name; I have spoken the truth, and I will never go back on My Word.”
Rest assured sis, His promises for your life will come to pass at the appointed time.
Remember what Joseph went through and how his brothers conspired to kill him because they were jealous and envious of him and his dreams. In Genesis 37:5-8, it tells the story of how Joseph had a dream one night and when he told his brothers about it, they hated him more than ever. Joseph said that in his dream, him and his brothers were out in a field, tying up bundles of grain, suddenly, his bundle stood up, and their bundles all gathered around and bowed low before his!” In verse 8, his brothers responded, “So you think you will be our king, do you? Do you actually think you will reign over us?” And they hated him all the more because of his dreams and the way he talked about them. Later on in the story in Genesis 37:18-28 (paraphrasing), his brothers saw Joseph coming towards them in the distance. They made plans to kill him and throw his body in one of the nearby cisterns. They told themselves, “We will tell our father, a wild animal has eaten him. Then we’ll see what becomes of his dreams!” But Judah said to his brothers, “What will we gain by killing our brother? So instead of hurting him, they decided to sell him to some Ishmaelite Traders. Joseph’s life shifted over night. Once he was taken to Egypt by the traders, Potiphar, an Egyptian Officer purchased him. But the Lord was with Joseph and he succeeded in everything he did as he served in the home of his master, Potiphar. This pleased Potiphar, so Joseph became his personal attendant. Joseph was a very handsome young man and he soon gained the attention of Potiphar’s wife who wanted him. Day after day, she kept pressuring Joseph to have intimacy with her, but he refused her. One day, she became aggressive and grabbed him by the cloak, but Joseph broke free from her. As a result, she became angry and lied to the servants saying that Joseph tried to rape her. When Potiphar found out, he was furious and had Joseph thrown into prison. But the Lord was with Joseph in the prison and showed him His faithful love. To make a long story short, the Lord’s hand of favor was upon Jospeh and He orchestrated events surrounding Joseph’s life which led to his release. Joseph then was appointed as the Governor over Egypt. As you read through Genesis 42-50, you will see how Joseph’s brothers came to him in Egypt to buy food due to a great famine in the land and how he was reunited with his brothers and father. What the enemy meant for evil, God meant it for good (Genesis 50:20a).
I share this story to encourage you not to give up on what God has declared over your life. Joseph could have very well given up on the dream God had showed him with all the turmoil he faced. But the blessing was that the Lord was with Joseph every step of the way from his brothers wanting to kill him, Potiphar’s wife trying to seduce him, and his imprisonment to him being raised up in Egypt. In the end, the Word of the Lord came to pass and Joseph’s dreams came to fruition.
Ladies, whatever promises the Lord has made to you, take God at His Word and hold on to those promises. Don’t allow your circumstances or what’s going on around you to dictate your future. God’s Word will never return void and He will be faithful to fulfill those promises in His perfect timing! Trust Him! He’s the God of Truth!
Isaiah 46:11b I have said what I would do, and I will do it.
Isaiah 55:11 It is the same with My Word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.
