Attribute #2 – GOD is Infinite!

2 Peter 3:8 But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.

1828 Webster’s Dictionary Definition of Infinite: Without limits; boundless; not applied to time, space, and qualities.

God is without limits nor can He be measured by space or time! 2 Peter 3:8 says a day to Him is like a thousand years and a thousand years are like one day. My human mind will never comprehend the meaning of this verse. God’s concept of time cannot be compared with human reasoning.

A friend of mine shared with me that she knew of a lady who diligently prayed for the salvation of her husband for 30 years. The Lord honored her prayer request in His timing as her husband accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. I share this story because this is just an example of how God does not operate on our watch. As a Faithful God, He always answers our prayers according to His perfect will and in His perfect timing. We cannot place a timeframe of when and how we think He should do things. The Lord is Sovereign and in control! He knows exactly what He’s doing.

Whenever He decides and whatever He decides for our situations, let’s remain anchored in Him, trusting that His plans for our lives are far better than our own. Wait patiently on Him, believing that He hears our prayers and He will answer each one according to His absolute perfect will and in His perfect timing. Rest assure that God is never early, never late, but always right on time!
