Attribute #11 – God is Holy!
Revelation 15:4 “Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy; for all the nations will come and worship before You, for Your righteous acts have been revealed.”
1828 Webster’s Dictionary of Holy: Perfectly just and good!
God is the Holy One! An additional 1828 definition of Holy as it applies to the Supreme Being, it signifies perfectly pure, immaculate and complete in moral character. In other words, God is absolutely pure, completely clean, and there is not one drop of evil in Him. He is the only One who can declare that He is the One True and Holy God!
Isaiah 43:15 “I am the Lord, Your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, Your King.”
We as imperfect people fall short of God’s glory! The Bible says in Romans 3:10, “None is righteous, not even one.” But we shouldn’t take this verse and use it as an excuse to habitually sin. As long as we live on this earth, we will never attain perfection but we should always pray and ask God to help us imitate His character by continually walking in holiness, truth, and righteousness.
Galatians 5:16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.
We should prayerfully rely on the Holy Spirit to enable us to reflect the heart of Jesus in all that we say and do. It’s hard to do this in our own strength, so we should always lean on the Lord, for His strength is made perfect in our weakness. And in John 15:5, it says, “Apart from Me (Jesus), you can do nothing.” So let us continually depend on the Lord to be holy as He is holy and walk in His Spirit, so we can be a sweet smelling aroma to Him and to those around us! ❤️❤️❤️
1 Peter 1:15-16 But like the Holy One who called you, Be holy yourselves also in your behavior; because it is written, “You shall be holy, for I AM HOLY.”
