Psalm 37:7a Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him.
The 1828 Webster’s Dictionary defines the word, Rest as a state free from motion or disturbance; a state of reconciliation to God; a place of quiet; peace, etc. In modern terms, the word can be translated as “relax”, “take it easy”, and/or “don’t worry about anything”.
We all have things and circumstances we are praying about. Some may be praying for the salvation of a loved one, for healing, comfort, protection, direction in life while others are praying for provision, restoration, a godly mate, and so forth. Whatever your need(s) may be, take it to the Lord and lay it at His feet.
Psalm 55:22 Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.
He’s more than able to take care of your request(s) according to His plan and purpose for your life. In the mean time, rest in the Lord and trust His timing. He is faithful to answer your prayers according to His divine will for your life. It may not be the answer you hoped for, but remember, His ways are not our ways nor are His thoughts our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8).
Everything that the Lord does is good. All of His ways are perfect and He knows what’s best for you as His daughter. Place your hope in Him and rest in the Lord dear sister! Abide in and cling to Him. He will give you His peace that surpasses all understanding and He will give you His rest. He has made everything beautiful in its time (Ecclesiastes 3:11a).
