James 1:2-4 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
According to the 1828 Webster’s Dictionary, the word, persevere is defined as “to pursue steadily any course commenced or not to give over or abandon what is undertaken”. As we journey through life, we will all be tested and tried. No one is exempt from hardships. The Bible declares in Matthew 5:45b, “For He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and and on the unjust”. For the believer, his or hope rests in Christ alone. Even though we go through storms, we have the assurance of knowing that we are not alone. Jesus Christ, our Anchor will give us His peace that surpasses all understanding and the strength to persevere in our faith as we walk through the valleys of life. He is Faithful! Psalm 55:22 says Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.
Whatever you are facing, cling tightly to the Lord, hold fast to His Word, pray fervently while entrusting your situations to Him, and allow Him to walk you through it. Don’t give up nor give in! He will give you His grace and strength to persevere in your faith through life’s difficulties. There are no accidents with God! We may not understand or agree, but we have to believe that everything is working for our good and for His glory. Trust Him!
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
1 Peter 4:12-13 Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.
