Colossians 4:5 Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. (NLT)
Life is full of opportunities. I like to refer to them as divine appointments from the Lord. As we journey through life, we will have divine appointments with people, new job opportunities that await us, different life experiences, and so forth. The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 3, “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven (vs 1); a time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted (vs 2b); a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance (vs 4); a time to gain, and a time to lose (vs 6a); and a time to keep silence, and a time to speak (vs 7b). Our times are in the Lord’s hands.
Psalm 31:15a My times are in Your hand.
Reading these verses brings personal reflection to my own life. “Am I using my time wisely?”, “Will I utilize it for God’s glory?”, “Will I waste it on empty pursuits?”, or “Will I seize the moment and make the most out of every opportunity?”
Ladies, I encourage you to utilize the opportunities God has graciously given to you whether it’s sharing your faith and personal testimony, praying for someone, encouraging someone in the Lord, taking a leap of faith as you step into a new season of life, and/or just making yourself available to be used by God. These are all windows of opportunity. Don’t let them pass you by nor take them for granted. View them as treasured and divine appointments from God. Seize these opportunities, live your life for His glory, and redeem the time.
Galatians 6:10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.
Ephesians 5:16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
