Genesis 6:22 Thus Noah did; according to all that God commanded him, so he did.
Genesis 7:5 And Noah did according to all that the Lord commanded him.
Genesis 9:1 So God Blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them: “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.”
As a kid, did you ever rebel against your parents’ authority and did exactly what they said not to do? I did and as a result, I suffered the consequences for my mischief. We can also exhibit a rebellious nature towards our Heavenly Father. Due to our propensity to sin, it’s hard to submit to one’s authority and remain obedient. We tend to do the very opposite of what we are told to do.
As children of God, each of us are called by Him to live and walk in full obedience to Him. Our lives should be strongly governed by His authority and not our own. He has given us His Holy Spirit not just as a guarantee when we first believed, but as a Guide to help us live a life that is well pleasing to Him as we obey His commands. Galatians 5:16 exhorts us to “Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” There will be times when we don’t understand God’s plan, but we are told in Proverbs 3:5-6 to trust the Lord and lean not on our own understanding. Again in 2 Corinthians 5:7, for we walk by faith and not by sight and lastly, in Isaiah 55:8, for the Lord’s thoughts are not our thoughts nor are His ways our ways.
Ladies, as Christ’s ambassadors, we are called to fully and completely obey the Lord regardless of whether we think we have an understanding of His plan or not. He doesn’t want half-hearted obedience, but one of whole-hearted submission to Him and His overall plan for our lives. God is good all the time and so is His divine plan. The Lord’s purposes are specifically designed for each individual believer to be lived out and fulfilled in His way and in His time. Trust the Lord and obey Him at all times whether you feel like it or not. He is Sovereign and He knows exactly what He’s doing. His plan may not go in the direction you think it should go, but remember, He has your best interest at heart. Surrender your life to Him, joyfully embrace His plan, and live your life in full obedience to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. You will reap His great blessings when you fully and completely obey Him. He will not disappoint you.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans that I have for you, says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
