When our Lord rose from the dead, He rose to an absolutely new life-a life He had never lived before He was God Incarnate. He rose to a life that had never been before. And what His resurrection means for us is that we are raised to His risen life, not to our old life. One day we will have a body like His glorious body, but we can know here and now the power and effectiveness of His resurrection and can “walk in newness of life.”

As we reflect on the resurrection of Christ today, I pray that each of us will remain surrendered to His will and not our own, we would choose to consistently walk in newness of life, stay on the path He has ordained for us, and joyfully accept and embrace His plans for our lives. Trust Him and remember, the same power that rose Jesus from the dead lives on the inside of each of us. His Holy Spirit empowers us to live a life which glorifies Him.
