Hi Ladies,❤️
I hope that each of you are doing well in the midst of what’s going on in our nation. My prayer is that we would not fear, but remain anchored in God’s Word and trust Him for the road ahead. He will never leave nor forsake us. My prayers are with you and your families. 🙏🏽
I feel led to continue on in our prayer challenge.
We are officially in our second month. Today, March 2️⃣0️⃣th, 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣0️⃣, we will be lifting up qualities 3 and 4 listed below. As mentioned before, the number 2️⃣0️⃣ will be our theme for this prayer challenge. Please choose a timeframe that works best for you (ex: 7:20am, 9:20am, 12:20pm, 3:20pm, 5:20pm, or 8:20pm). And please pray for 2️⃣0️⃣ minutes for the qualities listed below in regards to your godly husband (if the Lord has given you this promise):
Quality #3: Please pray for the Lord to fill your godly husband of promise with the Spirit of God!
Joshua is an example of a man filled with God’s Spirit. Let’s read Joshua 1:1-9 together:
After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, it came to pass that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying: “Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them-the children of Israel. Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses. From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the River Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your territory. No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you.
Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go.
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Joshua was a godly man filled and led by the Spirit of God. He allowed the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, to teach and lead him in the way he should go. Joshua did not give in to his feelings nor did he allow his emotions to guide him. He didn’t walk according to the flesh, but according to God’s Spirit. If I could choose a verse that fits the character of Joshua, it would be Galatians 5:25: “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.”
Ladies, please pray for the Lord to mold and shape your godly husband of promise into a man who is always filled with the Spirit of God, who does not walk according to the flesh. This is vital for the sake of your relationship and your marriage with your husband as well as your children. You want a man who will be a good spiritual leader of the home who will steer and direct your family in the ways of the Lord. Only a man who is fully surrendered to the Lord, Spirit-filled, and empowered by God’s Spirit can do so. Please pray for the Lord to fill your godly husband of promise with an overflowing of His Spirit.
Acts 11:24 For he (Barnabas) was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord.
Quality #4: Please pray for the Lord to transform your godly husband of promise into a man after God’s own heart.
Acts 13:22 And when He had removed him (Saul), He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.’
King David was a man after God’s own heart. Contrary to King Saul, David walked in full obedience to the Lord. He obeyed Him and did what the Lord commanded him to do. David did not compromise. You may say, “What about the adulterous act he committed with Bathsheba followed by the murder of her husband Uriah?” This is true and David paid a heavy price for the sins he committed. But what I love about David is that he didn’t continue to live in his sin. He tried to hide it, but eventually he confessed and repented of his wrongdoing when he was confronted by Nathan (2 Samuel 12:1-13). David turned from that lifestyle and began seeking the Lord again with his whole heart. He wasn’t perfect, but because of his love and devotion to God, he is known “As a man after God’s own heart.”
With encouragement, ladies I urge you to pray and ask God to mold and transform your godly husband of promise into a man after God’s own heart while shaping him into a man of integrity. As I said before, character is very important. But keep in mind, there is no such thing as a perfect man. Our husbands will make mistakes just as we do. I’m not saying we should condone or excuse sin. But what I am implying is that our hearts’ desire should be to pray for our godly husbands’ character to weigh much more on the scales of complete devotion to God while maintaining a faithful heart of integrity. Please pray for these qualities.
Psalm 1:1-2 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.
Job 31:6 Let me be weighed on honest scales, that God may know my integrity.
