Hi Ladies, 😇
Today, February 2️⃣0️⃣th 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣0️⃣ marks the first day of our prayer challenge. As mentioned before, the number 2️⃣0️⃣ will be our theme for this prayer challenge. Please choose a timeframe that works best for you (ex: 7:20am, 9:20am, 12:20pm, 3:20pm, 5:20pm, or 8:20pm). And please pray for 2️⃣0️⃣ minutes for the 2 qualities listed below in regards to your godly husband (if the Lord has given you this promise 😇):
Quality #1: Please pray for God’s divine choice concerning your godly husband of promise. Please allow the Lord to choose your mate for you. He will give you His very best! When we choose, it may be a good choice, but it’s not God’s choice. The Lord looks at the heart.
In 1 Samuel 16, the Lord instructed the Prophet Samuel to go to Jesse in Bethlehem. For the Lord said, “He has provided Himself a king among his sons.” Samuel was to invite Jesse along with his sons to the sacrifice. At the sacrifice, Samuel consecrated Jesse and his sons. When the sons of Jesse came forward, the Prophet Samuel looked at Eliab and said, “Surely the Lord’s anointed is before Him!” (vs 6) But the Lord said to Samuel in verse 7, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” In Verses 10-13, Jesse made seven of his sons pass before Samuel. And Samuel said to Jesse, “The Lord has not chosen these. Are all the young men here?” Then Jesse said, “There remains the youngest, and there he is, keeping the sheep.” So he sent and brought him in. He was ruddy, with bright eyes, and good-looking. And the Lord said, “Arise, anoint him; for this is the one!” Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward.
This story is a beautiful picture of how the Lord Himself chose David to be the King of Israel. The Lord used Samuel to anoint David. Samuel didn’t make the choice, but the Lord did. And just as the Lord chose David to serve as the king for Israel, the Lord has already selected and chosen who our godly husbands will be. God looks at the heart.
The Lord has His very best for each one of us. The Lord wants to be the Author of your love story; allow Him to show you who He has chosen to be your godly husband of promise. He always gives the best gifts to His children.
James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
Quality #2: Please pray for the Lord to pour out His anointing oil upon your godly husband of promise to always remain as a God-fearing man.
Job 1:1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God and shunned evil.
Nehemiah 7:2b And Hananiah the leader of the citadel was a faithful man and feared God more than many.
Ladies, I encourage you as I encourage myself to pray for the Lord to continually transform and mold your godly husband to remain a faithful man who fears God until the very end. His character is extremely important. If he’s more concerned about what people think rather than what God says, there’s a strong possibility he will compromise his walk with the Lord, his relationship and marriage with you as well as other areas in his life. It’s very important that we pray to the Lord and ask Him to mold and shape our godly husbands into strong, courageous, and faithful God-fearing men. You may ask, “How do you know if he is a God-fearing man?” God will reveal his true character to you. It will be revealed in the choices he makes, his behavior, and his interactions with others.
Proverbs 27:19 As in water face reflects face, so a man’s heart reveals the man.
