2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
Recently, I’ve been decluttering my house by donating unwanted clothes, filing paperwork, and tossing out junk mail. My goal is to have a well-organized home.
As believers, we are commanded by God to put off those things which easily weigh us down and hinder our growth in Him. We all have areas in our lives that need to be worked on. For some, it may be credit card debt. For others, it may be unforgiveness and resentment. And the list goes on. The Lord has called us to part ways with those things, so we can run the race of faith to our fullest potential. As we rely and depend on Him, He will empower each one of us with His Holy Spirit to put off the old man and instead, put on the new man. The new transformed person reflects the character of Christ by displaying humility, His love, kindness, gentleness, and patience.
Galatians 5:16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
Ladies, as I encourage myself, I encourage you all to cast those weights aside that will hinder your growth in the Lord. Take inventory of your life and bury those things that are stumbling blocks to your walk with Christ. Holding on to them will only cost you more in the end. Also, make wise choices in your friendships. The company you keep will determine the course of your life. They will either have a positive or negative impact on your faith journey. Be discerning and choose your friends carefully.
Put on the new man! You are a new creation in Christ and you bear His image. Clothe yourself with those things that pertain to godliness which will bring honor and glory to His name.
Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
