2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.
As believers in Christ, we have the promises of God. Walking with the Lord for the past decade, God has showed me through His Word that He not only has a plan for my life, but He also has promises in store for me. Some of which have already come to pass. I’ve seen the faithfulness of God and His sovereign hand at work in my life.
In the beginning of January 2010, the Lord laid it on my heart to pray for my late father’s salvation on a daily basis. The Lord made a promise to me that that my dad would come to the saving knowledge of Christ and accept Him as his personal Lord and Savior before he left this earth. And he did; he came to faith in March of 2011. Praise JESUS!???? As of August 2012, he went home to be with our Lord.
Over President’s Day weekend in 2014, the Lord spoke to me on the morning of February 17th during my quiet time with Him and He gave me a promise that I would one day write a book for His kingdom. As most of you already know, Patiently Waiting on the Lord for a Godly Husband published on November 29th, 2016.
There are many other promises, but I wanted to highlight these two as they were extraordinary. My father was a strong willed man, so the thought of him placing his faith in Jesus was hard to believe. The more I prayed for him, his demeanor towards me and those around him grew worse and worse. It was a very hard road, but with the Lord’s outstretched arm, love, and compassion, my father surrendered his life to Christ. And I’m very thankful to God for answered prayer. As far as the book is concerned, I never set out to be an Author nor did I have a desire to write a book. This was all the Lord and I’m very grateful and thankful to Him for what He has done and what He continues to do in and through me. He is a Faithful God and worthy of all my praise. To Him be the Glory forever and ever!!!
I’ve learned and I’m still learning how to rest in the Lord and believe His promises He has bestowed upon my life. When God makes a promise, you and I can stand firm on His Word and believe that it will come to pass. But we have to remember, He will always bring those promises to fruition in His perfect timing.
Ecclesiastes 3:11a He has made everything beautiful in its time.
Isaiah 55:11 “So shall My Word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”
Sonetimes it’s challenging to believe His promises especially when your circumstances seem as though they are contrary to what He has spoken over your life or maybe there is a long delay. But we walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). Romans 8:28 affirms, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
Ladies, I encourage you to rest in the Lord and like Sarah (Abraham’s wife), believe the promises He has spoken over your life. He is a Faithful God and He will bring them to pass in His own way and in His timing. Trust Him and rest assure that He will not fail to bring His promises to pass. The Lord is a Promise Keeper!
Hebrews 11:11 By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.
Ezekiel 24:14a I, the Lord, have spoken it; it shall come to pass, and I will do it.
2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.
