1 Kings 8:20a; 22-24 “And now the Lord has fulfilled the promise He made, for I have become king in my father’s place, and now I sit on the throne of Israel, just as the Lord promised”.
Then Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in front of the entire community of Israel. He lifted his hands toward heaven, and he prayed, “O Lord, God of Israel, there is no God like You in all of heaven above or on earth below. You keep Your covenant and show unfailing love to all who walk before You in wholehearted devotion. You have kept Your promise to Your servant David, My Father. You made that promise with Your own mouth, and with Your own hands You have fulfilled it today.”
The Lord is a Promise keeper. He always keeps His Word and it never returns void. When He says He’s going to do something, you can trust that it will come to pass. The Lord has made promises to me and some of them haven’t come to pass yet, but I cling to Him trusting that He will do as He has promised. It’s hard sometimes as the years go by, but the Lord constantly reminds me that He is Faithful and and He will fulfill each and every promise in His perfect timing. He’s never late nor early, but right on time. I encourage you all to wait patiently on Him, stand firm on His Word, and believe that He is faithful to bring every promise to pass. Just as He fulfilled the promises He made to King David and his son, Solomon, the Lord will also fulfill the promises He has made to each one of us. No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly (Psalm 84:11b).
Psalm 126:1-3 When the Lord brought back His exiles to Jerusalem, it was like a dream! We were filled with laughter, and we sang for joy. And the other nations said, “What amazing things the Lord has done for them.” Yes, the Lord has done amazing things for us! What joy!
